Six adults are exchanging gifts at a family dinner. Three couples live together, so the organizer wants every person to draw someone outside their household. The family already has a private messenger group and does not want another account.
The organizer confirms the final six names
The list uses short names everyone recognizes. The dinner date and €30 budget are optional context, not inputs to the matching algorithm.
Three mutual pairs stay apart
The organizer adds one exclusion for each couple. GiftDraw validates all constraints together before saving anything and creates a complete assignment in which everyone gives once and receives once.
Each link goes to one direct conversation
The manager page shows six rows. The organizer copies Maya’s link to Maya’s direct chat, then repeats for the other five people. The adjacent QR option is available for anyone receiving the link in person.
Participants reveal only their own recipient
Maya opens her link, checks that her name is shown, and reveals one recipient. Reloading keeps the same result. The organizer sees that another participant has revealed, but the manager page never displays who drew whom.
